tvN has shared a highlight video for the upcoming drama “Start-Up”!
“Start-Up” takes place in South Korea’s fictional Silicon Valley named Sandbox and tells the story of people in the world of startup companies. Suzy plays Seo Dal Mi, who dreams of becoming Korea’s Steve Jobs, and Nam Joo Hyuk co-stars as Nam Do San, founder of Samsan Tech. Kim Seon Ho plays Han Ji Pyung, a team leader at SH Venture Capital, while Kang Han Na is CEO and second-generation chaebol Won In Jae.
In the new highlight video, Seo Dal Mi and Won In Jae seem to be on bad terms as the tension between the two grows. At home, Seo Dal Mi uses a marker to fill in the spots on her black shoes. Meanwhile, CEO Won In Jae tries on expensive handbags and relaxes in a bath, which is making viewers curious about the relationship between the two polar opposites.
Nam Do San and Han Ji Pyung have an interesting connection as well. In a letter sent to Seo Dal Mi, the name of the writer reads, “Nam Do San,” but it turns out that Han Ji Pyung had actually written the letter instead. Seo Dal Mi’s grandmother (played by Kim Hae Sook) tells Seo Dal Mi to write a letter back to him, and a young Han Ji Pyung, who sees a newspaper article titled, “Math genius Nam Do San,” goes on to say, “What do you think of this guy?” The story of how Seo Dal Mi ends up meeting Nam Do San through Han Ji Pyung’s antics is something to watch for.
Furthermore, Nam Do San’s transformation under the guidance of Han Ji Pyung and his encounter with Seo Dal Mi creates a perfect, heart-fluttering moment. Nam Do San even says, “This is my first time getting a text message from a girl who’s not my mom.” Viewers can look forward to the sweet chemistry between Nam Do San and Seo Dal Mi.
Above all, the four main characters each have their own reasons for entering the world of startup companies. Seo Dal Mi dreams of turning the tables in her life, Nam Do San wants to shine as he did in the past, Han Ji Pyung needs to pay off his debts, and Won In Jae doesn’t want to fail. Toward the end of the video, Seo Dal Mi says with confidence, “I’ve never regretted my own decisions.”
